We just got back from the lake house. We are preparing for an upcoming family reunion and we have been working hard getting the lake house and property in good shape for next weekend. We have been cleaning, mulching, doing laundry, mowing, clipping bushes, straightening, painting, planting and all the things you do when you are expecting company.
The best thing is that the boat has been fixed and is working well and we were able to take a couple rides around the lake yesterday and today. This afternoon before dinner we took out the boat and then came back to the dock and swam for the first time this season. Although it is August, the water was cool. It was nice however. Today when we went for a boat ride we didn't take the dogs. They were not happy about that but they will get their chance when we return to the lake house next weekend.
Everyone is tired. Ken just came upstairs to change into his pajamas and Emme came upstairs with him and took the opportunity to get into her crate and crawl under her pillow. I think it will be an early bed for all of us tonight.
