The Scene of the Crime, Revisited

Last weekend, Emme got herself in trouble at the lake house for jumping up on my chair and licking the jelly off my bagel. This weekend she revisited the scene of the crime. As we were eating breakfast, Ken got up from the table. No sooner did he leave than Emme jumped up onto his chair. She never touched his bagel. She looked out the window, looked across the table at me, and then sat still waiting for Ken to return. Maybe she did understand that the bagel was human food and she was not to help herself. Maybe.
